Rotary
District Governor Dennis Schonewetter and his wife Donna visited
the Little Falls Rotary Club this past week.
They
are both Rotarians and travel throughout upstate New York and beyond
visiting local clubs where they have an opportunity to meet local
people as well as bring information about Rotary objectives, programs
and the many ongoing successes, especially in the continuing eradication
of Polio.
While
still a high school senior, his first knowledge of Rotary was when
he the local Rotary award for high academic achievement in laboratory
sciences. After attaining his Masters at Utica College, Schonewetter
was invited by his company to attend a meeting of Rotary as a corporate
member. He was hooked and has been a Rotarian ever since. Still
a member of the Sherrill Club, he is Interact Liaison Officer for
the SRC as well as a teacher advisor for WS interact club.
Interact
is a club for young people ages 12-18 who want to join together
to tackle the issues in their community that they care most about.
Through Interact, you can carry out hands on services projects in
your community, connect with other interact clubs locally, in the
state or internationally, develop leadership skills and have fun.
In conjunction with our sponsorship of RYLA students, Little Falls
Rotary Club will be creating an Interact Club for the youth of our
City during the coming year and we hope that many students will
be interested in becoming a member.
