Pickett spoke to the Little Falls Rotary Clun on October 23rd about
the varied role that a Forest Ranger has in the Southern Adirondack
region.
Their duties cover search and rescue, law enforcement, wildfire
suppression, wildlife conservation, public engagement and public
land management.
A forest ranger is a Police Officer covering criminal procedure
law, care and custardy and protection of land, environmentalist,
maintain rules and regulations pertaining to state lands, penal
law, alcohol offences, vehicle enforcement and traffic laws, parks
and recreational activities, including four-wheelers and snow-mobiles
